Marlene
J. Bennetts has been writing poetry and works of fiction for
children and adults for many years.
She
has had collections of poetry and adult short stories published,
as well as having poems and stories included in anthologies
in New Zealand and several overseas countries.
Some
of her children's stories have been translated and published
in Maori, read over New Zealand National Radio, published by
Learning Media,and other well-known publishers.
Marlene
is a New Zealand Book Council 'Writer-in schools' and was appointed
a Member of the New Zealand Order of Merit (M.N.Z.M.) in Queen's
Birthday Honours 2003 in recognition of her services to literature.
